Research Activities

·    Published more than seventy refereed journal and proceeding papers in the areas of Computer Networks, Client/Server and Distributed Computing, Object-oriented Technologies, Computer Operating systems, Databases, Software Engineering, and Linear and Nonlinear Control Systems.

·     Received more than thirty research grants and conference grants totaling more than $600,000, including two research grants from National Science Foundation for network computing and Internet2, five research grants from Caterpillar Incorporation for distributed computing, and two instruction improvement grants from MicrosoftÒ .

·     Participated several multi-year large research projects including a USDA crop insurance data analysis project in data mining over the distributed data sets on the Internet and a Caterpillar Application Framework Module (AFM) software development for the client/server computing based on Distributed Computing Environment (DCE) on multiple Caterpillar computing platforms (AIX, HP-UX, VMS, MVS, OS2, AS400, and Microsoft Window3.1, Window95, and Window NT.)
