OS Comparison Project

Write a detailed Microsoft word report to compare LINUX or Android with the Window 8 operating systems.
(Try to find as much information as you can either from the books or the Internet.)

The following sections are required: (Just indicate “None” if the feature is not available in the OS)

1. Overview:
   Describe the history of LINUX/Android and Window 8 respectively.
2. Architecture:
   Describe the internal structures of LINUX/Android and Window 8 (architecture component diagram, etc.)
3. Processes and Threads:
   Describe the processes and threads model of LINUX/Android and Window 8 (scheduling algorithms used, etc.)
4. Memory Management:
   Describe the physical memory management and virtual memory management of LINUX/Android and Window 8 (page allocation algorithms used, etc.).
5. I/O System:
   Describe the I/O components and management functions of LINUX/Android and Window 8.
6. File System:
   Describe the file system format including the file system implementation of LINUX/Android and Window 8.
7. Security:
   Describe the security features of LINUX/Android and Window 8.
8. Network:
   Describe the network components of LINUX/Android and Window 8.
