As the Executive Director, Dr. Shotick manages the Orientation programs, First Year Experience (EHS 120) course, the Academic Exploration Program, the Center for Testing, and the Wellness Program, Health Center and Center for Counseling, as well as coordinates the University Student Arbitration Board.
In May 2008, Dr. Shotick was selected to receive the Julia Proctor White Award in the Arts and Education at the YWCA Leader Luncheon. Dr. Shotick received the Meritorious Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge in April, 1997 and serves on their Board of Directors, in which she chairs the Education committee.
Dr. Shotick was selected for the 25 Women in Leadership Award in Peoria by WEEK-TV in 2005. She received the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Faculty/Staff Leadership Award in 2005, the Outstanding Organization Advisor award in May, 2000, the Professor of the Semester award from Bradley University's Order of Omega in 1999, and the Phi Chi Theta Oustanding Faculty Award in 1995 and 1997.
Previously, she was the Assistant Dean of the Foster College of Business Administration at Bradley University. She taught marketing, statistics, and economics classes. She serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives.
She is the advisor for the Bradley University Student Senate and the Rotaract Club at Bradley University. She has served on the Kappa Delta Eta Beta Chapter Advisory Board, Academic Coach for Pi Kappa Phi, and the Chapter Advisor for Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Dr. Shotick was a member of the Academy of Marketing Science, National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), in which she was the National Co-Chair for Parent and Family Relations Knowledge Community. and the Association of Student Conduct Administrators (ASCA).
Dr. Shotick earned a Ph.D. in Consumption Economics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
She has published in national journals and presented at numerous national conferences.
As an active member of the Peoria community, Dr.Shotick is a member of Rotary Peoria-North in which she served on the Foundation Board. She participates at her church by serving as an Assistant Minister and greeter. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Peoria Production Shop and the YWCA Board.
She enjoys scuba diving, skiing, and hiking with her family. Below are some recent photographs of her activities.
