In the figure on the right
each of the six plates is joined to its neighbors by two hinges in the
same plane at right angles to each other. If one link is held fixed,
all the others can undergo motion simutaneously, though not entirely
independently. The blocks are labeled from A to F on one side, in red,
and from a to f on the other side, in blue. If block A is held fixed, and
the block B is rotated through a right angle about that hinge, what will
be the orientation of all the other blocks?
