This is the last problem for the semester.  We wish you a happy, restful, safe and enjoyable summer!

Nine points are chosen at random in a cube with side length 1.  What is the farthest apart the points can be; that is, what is the smallest real number r, so that no matter how the nine points are distributed there are always two points at distance less than r?
